Our project helps young adults with Learning Disabilities get online safety. Al has recently enhanced their digital activities by boosting confidence and personal skills. Benefits include aiding in writing posts, creating images, and improving accessibility through assistive technology.
Until early 2024, many were unaware of their of AI features like ChatBox until our learning programmes clarified their use. this understanding allowed those with dependence needs to create engaging pictures and promoted independence. The key takeaway is an enhanced learning experience, aligning with Learn My Way's AI enhanced sections for consistent learning standards.
We added AI support to our website to help users interact with the community, supported by volunteer Digital Champions. Initial scepticism arose from a lack of understanding, compounded IT support, we face software/hardware; issues and funding challenges.
Some participants feared data leaks from AI, so we focused on debunking myths and raising cyber security awareness to improve community engagement.
Two of our volunteers Simon Schofield and Mart Lee have been working alongside our project since 2014. They have benefited from introduction of AI particular use of language/ translation and that has led to enriched digital experience.
